American Rapper 6ix9ine Could Face Life In Prison
After being arrested for racket, the famous Brooklyn rapper Tekashi 69, also known as 6ix9ine, could be facing life imprisonment, according to TMZ. A copy of the indictment apparently includes a charge of discharging a firearm when committing a crime, which is the most serious of the list of charges against the colorful haired rapper, with mandatory minimum sentence of 25 years imprisonment.
6ix9ine and four of his associates were arrested on Sunday night in New York City on racketeering and firearms charges. The arrests were reportedly part of a joint investigation between the NYPD, Homeland Security, and the Justice Department’s Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. Tekashi’s recently fired manager, Kifano “Shottie” Jordan, bodyguard Faheem “Crippy” Walter, and associates Jensel “Ish” Butler and Fuguan “Fu Banga” Lovick were also arrested.
The young Rapper is also suspected of committing an armed robbery against a rival gang on April 3 along with two other members of the Nine Trey Bloods set and his ex-manager, Shottie. Another shooting listed included a July 16 incident wherein 20 shots were fired at a cookout and a bystander was hit in the foot.
Prosecutors say the violence aimed to defend the gang’s drug business and/or retaliate against or intimidate other rival sets. Tekashi was denied bail, although his attorney proposed to allow his release if he surrendered his passport, paid $750,000 bail, and agreed to house arrest.
