We Need More Dempsey Bolton In Our Lives After His New Release “Welcome To My Funeral”
Infused with soulful vocals and melodies, you can’t help but to fall in love. Canadian artist Dempsey Bolton grew up listening to musicians such as Otis Redding and Stevie Wonder, and decided to pursue creating his own music after finishing his degree at the University of Alberta. This new release is showcased for it’s dark sinister feel yet has a very nice retro soul beat to deliver Bolton’s unique style. In regards to the inspiration behind this track, Bolton states,
Welcome To My Funeral was the culmination of too many late nights waiting for a text message. It's a response to the feeling of loneliness in unhealthy relationships that I often write about; the feeling that the attention and effort you're putting in is unreciprocated. I wanted to clap back at that state and say lyrically what I didn't have the courage to do, i.e. leave the relationship.
