Love This Like You Love Your "Blue Gene"s: ADIV's Latest Single

Blue Gene by ADIV is a gem of a tune, released less than a month ago. The song combines a range of sounds from different genres including RnB and acoustic. The song is a refreshing aside from mainstream pop or rnb: with its real-sounding drums, chilled synths, and funky bass, it is a feel good mix of textures and sounds.
ADIV, or Alexander Duncan IV was born in New York, he was initially classical trained at the New York Conservatory of Music. As you keep listening, this song surprises us just past half-way through which a beautiful transition to a sound completed supported by a pulse-y-saw-tooth-like bass. The lyrics tell a story, cleverly using blue gene as a metaphor for something about who he is/ a quality of himself he can’t change.
