If You Are Feeling Funky and Foolish, Pink Elefants Got You

When you take a listen to “Foolish” by Pink Elefants, you will surely find yourself singing along to the chorus. The Maryland based duo’s catchy new release is about loving someone and wanting them to “give (you) a chance”. We have all been there and this is a perfect ode for those of us out who are stuck in this heart wrenching position. Unrequited love makes us do crazy things and we find ourselves “waiting” and “chasing” and in the end we are left feeling “foolishly”.
The perfect lyric that captures this feeling is “now you got me dancing on the ocean floor”. Despite being underwater, drowning, losing air, hurting from their lack of love, we are still performing like a foolish jester dancing for royalty, trying to impress and catch their attention.
Pink Elefants does a great job of encapsulating this foolish feeling in the music itself. The guitar licks are funky and groovy. Hearing them, you might almost hear the guitar lamenting, disappointed and hoping, asking for a chance.
So if you find yourself “tied to an anchor” and “sinking faster” go listen to this song and know that loving someone foolishly takes a lot of courage!
