Tokyo’s Rant is the newest release from rapper-writer Tokyo aka. Jordan. L. Thompson. The song starts off intriguing, with a kalimba-sounding sample/ loop. This is then nicely contrasted by the dark trap/drill-like beat. The song is well produced, balanced, dark, and sexy.
The song demonstrates well Tokyo’s rap and flow ability. Although the explicit lyrics may not resonate with all, they are potent and Tokyo’s flow is rather musical. Tokyo is definitely expressing some anger and power through his music which is a great space for expressing.
